Re: WSOP on ESPN thread (10/9 - ME Final Table)
Going back to the coverage. I take it that this was a first in televised WSOP history where only one hand of heads up play was shown.

Re: WSOP on ESPN thread (10/9 - ME Final Table)
I don't know that anything they showed changed my opinion of Yang since they only really showed hands we knew about--showdowns, bust outs. He ran over the table during the rest of play. I just can't grasp whey only Alex adjusted properly. They were playing really deep stacks and Jerry goes broke with top pair or good draw 100% of the time along with lots of silly hands PF. I vote Lee Watkinson as making the worst play of all probably.

Now, if you take into consideration the fact that Watkinson said he knew Yang is going to call with a wide variety there, then maybe, but at that point in the final table, Yang had only shown the A-K to eliminate Hilm. I just finished watching the WSOP covergage and [censored] did it suck. |

Re: WSOP on ESPN thread (10/9 - ME Final Table)
Thoughts:
ESPN almost covered this like "[censored], let's just get this over.' They missed one of the biggest stories, which was the fact that 1- it took forever and was a massive grind, and Rhame clearly went on tilt and tried to bust for about 20 minutes, but failed in doing so and untilted. They did make Yang look like more of a luckbox than he was. Jerry Yang seems really FOS to me. Between the bizzare Bill Elder thing, and other stuff, I just feel like he's just saying whatever he thinks will make people like him. The best players at the table just played so bad at Yang. Just ugly. |
