IMO the EV calc is just a waste of time, unless you run it over a huge (200k ish) sample

The equity calculator blows. [/ QUOTE ] With all due respect, but that's only true if you don't know how to use/interpret it correctly. Such a blanket statement is the same as saying "PT blows" or "Information blows". DUCY? |

[/ QUOTE ] For the EV calc to be meaningful you have to run it over a sample where you can be confident that your numbers have converged to the point where you can define your results as "long term". Seeing as nobody knows how many hands "long term" is, its basically uselss unless you want to use it as a more scientific way of saying "ZOMG I RUN SO BAD" when in actual fact you're probably just running normal. |

With all the honesty I would rather not know my equity since its almost always going to be higher than my actual winnings. Another reason to go tilt

I assume you had a read on the villain? Cause raising allin 200+bb deep with QQ doesn't seem that +ev to me.
I'm done for this week with poker, exams are coming up so I have to study. But stepping back to 50nl was good for me, made around $500 this week (incl. bonus rakeback), now if I could run like that every week I'm a happy man . |

Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.25/$0.50 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)
Hero (SB): $74.45 BB: $129.70 UTG: $61.25 MP: $50.00 CO: $65.80 BTN: $39.50 Preflop: Hero is dealt K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (6 Players) 4 folds, Hero raises to $2.00, BB calls $1.50 Flop: ($4) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero bets $3.00, BB calls $3.00 Turn: ($10) 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero checks, BB bets $7.00, Hero calls $7.00 River: ($24) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero bets $12.00, BB raises to $42.00, Hero calls $30.00 Pot Size: $108.00 ($3 Rake) Flop is standard cbet. Turn I check to let him float, and call to set him up to bluff-raise a blockbet on the river when he misses his draw or still has air and thinks I'm weak and am trying to play back at his draw. Villain is aggressive positionally and is floating a lot. C/R turn has little value as I fold out most hands I'm trying to extract from and only get action when I'm behind. Leading turn gets nothing extra from diamond draws, and I'm not going broke if a 3rd diamond hits anyways. This line extracts more from him if he has a jack, as he wouldn't call 3 barrels otherwise, and allows him to bluff which he does sooooooo often here. All in all, I'm pretty sure this is optimal line here. |
