Re: *official 2007 red sox thread*

On Irrational Panic A good rant for the upset Boston fans on here (and I guess somebody really needs to post it on SOSH. Some of those guys make the most irrational ones on here look rational). craig [/ QUOTE ] What a killjoy that guy is. If you can't panic, it takes all the fun out of being a Sox fan. |

Re: *official 2007 red sox thread*
Oh dear God, is anyone listening to NESN. "We just have to pitch Gagne as much as possible down the stretch and see what he's got" I think we have established that. Can we please find a game where we have a much much wider score gap to trot out the batting tee.

Other than Paplebom, who in the Sox bullpen do you really trust? Trying to get this guy going before the playoffs is a good move. |

Re: *official 2007 red sox thread*
Yeah, I know. I have a sneaking suspicion that it isn't quite as much an issue of pitching Gagne to get him going as it is to give Paps and Okajima a bit less work heading into the playoffs. I don't expect to see Gagne coming in for key situations during the playoffs.

I don't expect to see Gagne coming in for key situations during the playoffs. [/ QUOTE ] That's exactly what was said about Williamson in '03- even later in the season than now- and he ended up being used in all kinds of crucial spots in the postseason, and was very effective. Of course, the Sox didn't have Paps, Oki, Delcarmen, etc. that year, but it's still way too early to give up on Gagne as a possibly important option out of the pen. |
