Finally I get K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG and raise. I then watch the parade of cold-callers (I think 1 guy mucked) and know I've got to flop something decent and what comes?

The J.H.C.!, OMG!, WTF! flop of:

A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Well, putting prudence before valor, I check and it gets checked around.

I know this isn't the strategy forum, but...

I could in some % of the time understand a flop check, but how can you check the turn?

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't have the guts to bet into 7 players who've called a pf raise w/ that board, plain and simple. Somebody 'HAS' to have me beat and beat bad. The fact that nobody did this time means lol at them but, come on, how often can NOBODY have an Ace that didn't want to bet into the double-Queen board or a Queen that he was trying to trap with. I gave up on my hand as soon as I saw the flop but my interest revived when I saw the flop and turn action.

I posted this mainly because it was an uber-goofy hand, imo, and just the sort of thing that does go on at the 20 level at CAZ and figured that some folks would enjoy it.

So, if you like golf and poker come on out! And be sure to tell me how it goes when you bet your Kings in a spot like that! j/k of course

I sat at 1 table for like 1 orbit before getting mustmoved and then sat for a while in a game with ShawnHoo and 7 other subhumans that spent their time creating art by smearing their feces on the table.

Obviously I meant the other 7 players were subhumans, while as far as I can tell, you seem to have control of all your bodily functions.

I've also got an interesting/fun story to tell from the past couple days. I woke up at about 9pm on Monday, didn't feel like playing poker so played Wii all night. Yesterday went to Temecula to get something done and Costco for foodage, by about 7pm I still have not slept since I woke up 9pm on Monday, so naturally I must go make gambol.

I drive up to Ocean's and eventually get in the 40 game. I have already called Crazy Mike and he won't come up. It is at this point it hits me like a slippery fish. I ask Roc if he wants to go play 60/120 at Palomar, he of course says yes. He follows me despite my awful driving accidentally ditching him at our start point. I park next to him and when I get out of my car he says that I almost clipped the front of his and asks me "do you know what would have happened if you hit it?" I of course reply with "I wouldn't have to play poker again" because I'm clever. Anyway, we go into Palomar and I tell Roc that we are going to make Crazy Mike playing a mixed game of some sort with us, we eventually agree on 60/120 Omaha Hi/Holdem rotating every 9 hands because there are 3 of us so every 3 orbits. I run just grand to start and somehow am up like 4-5 racks (6/12 $10 chips so not exactly mindblowing, still quite good though). Other people join including Hogan and someone else that I used to see on a regular basis in a completely different venue years ago, things go downhill for me throughout this time and I generally fluctuate between +2 racks and slightly stuck. At 2am this place closes and I cash out +$600. I won a little at Ocean's as well so I am actually up a little over 1k on the day which I can't complain about.

The story does not end here of course, it is 2am and our game just broke, so like the sick twisted degenerates we are, we drive to Sycuan to either start the game again or play something new. Mike leaves first, then Roc, then me. On my way there I drive by a cop car that pulled someone over. Of course that person was Roc. We all eventually get set to play and negotiate out 75/150 Omaha Hi/Holdem although we will be playing only 25/50 and settling it later.

This starts out okay with me being up a rack or so ($500 but it's worth $1500 of course), however I just can't keep hold of any chips in this game. I fluctuate between even/stuck a rack for a while before losing a bunch of gigantic Omaha pots which lead me to fluctuating between stuck 2 and 4 racks. At some point one of the guys from Palomar joins us again. Roc runs like a golden God of old the whole time and in this 4 handed game he managed to be the only winner over basically all night. He absolutely murdered us, winning about 5k from me and a bit over 10k from Mike after we had settled up on what we owed. Roc eventually leaves at maybe 10am Wednesday satisfied with the way he slaughtered us, so Mike and I play bored 20/40 Omaha 8 for a while before quitting, realizing that getting killed on the freeway is probably not a fair tradeoff for some exciting 20/40 action.

Again disappointing to start off fairly far ahead in the Palomar game only to lose it back, then have a little bit winner in the Sycuan only to get stuck. The more I play of limit Omaha Hi the more I like it to be honest, it's the variance fest that sick [censored] like me love to play. It also helps that I ran substantially better in the Omaha than Holdem. I suffered the biggest coolers/beats in the Omaha but in Holdem I was just unable to win any hands or get anything going. I honestly feel like I didn't play the greatest in the Holdem rounds but it was like every situation was a nightmare for me so maybe I dealt with them well.

So here it is at 12:30 pm on Wednesday. I haven't slept since Monday still. I have an ethics question I want to post as well but LC thread probably isn't the place for it plus I'd like to wait to write it until I can actually see straight.

So what you're saying is you are running around san diego playing mid to high stakes mix games with Roc and Crazy Mike? I officially need to play live poker again. Can you or Crazy Mike call me next time something like this is occurring please.

Or, more realistically, that you'll say to fold.

[/ QUOTE ]

You're going to have a hard time getting action on that bet. When does Damon ever do anything else?

[/ QUOTE ]

Okay just blow me. I only wish I never learned to play all retarded like you guys. My old life of folding and winning was so much easier than my new life.

This came up in another topic I didn't want to sidetrack:
How do you guys deal with the question "Are you an internet player?" and "Are you a professional?"

The former seems to be asked alot by fellow internet players who are solid and the latter by bad players. I always brush it off to keep the table mood light, but I feel like my responses are always unconvincing to them because I am young and I'm not thoroughly convinced myself when I talk.

Depends on who is asking and where I am playing. If it is a regular who I haven't really talked to before I will be honest, because they will note how seriously I take the game by my play and that I am friends with other "serious players"-winners. If I am traveling or a non-reg fish asks me I will say I dabble on the net but am mainly a recreational player.

ZOMG, just finished a long limit session, playing almost entirely short handed, 5-6 players, ALL donkeys

and by donkeys I mean DONKEYS, HOW can it be that I LOSE 10 million chips to a table filled with donkeys who excel in calling down EVERYTHING, value betting NOTHING and open limping ANYTHING from ANY spot, though their prefered spot to open limp seems to be the button

I wanted to stab these monkeys so hard with any random blunt object, but instead I let them rape me over and over and over and over again and then some more

there was one kid in my game that was completely retarded

I raise him with K8 on a A82r flop with a bd flush draw, 1 cold caller, mental kid goes 3 and we both call, turn is another A and I release, mental kid and cold caller cap the turn and mental kid raises a river Q, other dude just calls and flips over p2, retardo shows KQ

I should have had ALL THEIR monies, instead they got all MY monies, it's completely and utterly insane

I guess I have no choice but to go back tomorrow and lose another 60 million bets

Only if you can help negotiate adding new games to go along with Omaha Hi/Holdem, Roc and I tried dearly to add Omaha 8 to no avail. Roc tried to get Mike to play Badugi which I have played only once in a $1/2 game, yet I was more than willing to play if Mike would. Omaha Hi is actually way more fun than I had always assumed it would be, but more games would be even better.

With Roc running so well last night I am sure that he will be more than happy to play again soon. The thing is that I know all of us are on horrible vampire sleep schedules (I just woke up and it's 1am) so playing Palomar is sort of tough due to the 2am thing, but it is also like 10 minutes from both Crazy Mike and I, so it's super convenient, and others may join (and they won't be good). Sycuan is farther but they don't close. Also Palomar let us do the game rotation every X amount of hands as we wanted, while Sycuan only let us switch each dealer down which obviously means more Holdem hands because it's faster.

According to my computer this is the day known as "Thursday" which means almost no shot of a 75 game at Ocean's. I will likely go to sleep again at some point today just so I can wake up at a more normal time for me, which means like 7-9pm and then head to Ocean's. In the likely event that Roc is there I will call Crazy Mike and hopefully we can do this again. We could also try to just setup at least 1 weekly scheduled game at whatever casino.
