YOU'VE OBVIOUSLY SEEN MY WHITE STAR FOR PLO8 ON SHARKSCOPE!!!!!!!

By the way, everyone, there were about eight billion identical hilarious conversations this summer that took the form:

[Jason and I walk into a room. Jason is immediately surrounded by 2+2ers drooling all over him or Internet poker celebrities chatting with him. A few minutes later:]

Random 2+2er/Internet poker celebrity: "Hi, I'm [name]."
Me: "Hi, I'm Nate."
Him: "So, what's your name online?"
Me: "Uh, Mortal Limit."
[Brief pause as he fails to recall "Moral Limit" playing at 10-20 NL.]
Me: "Yeah, unless you play $33 PLO8 SNGs, you probably haven't heard of me."
[I seek the security of the nearest mixed game.]

Whats even funnier about Nate's setup is that he would probably still be sleeping on the floor if I didn't lend him my air mattress.

It was fun.

All--

I've been informed that getting everything imported into Pokertracker and getting graphs together will take a very long time. So, hope you'll forgive me if it takes a while. Maybe HostAndrew can help me get some of these tournament summaries.

The HostAndrew comment during your HU match was definitely the "Save Ferris" moment of this challenge. Once that happen, I was pretty much ready - and still am - for anything to come of this. Top prize would probably be a CardPlayer magazine cover with a "Mortal Limit takes you from busto to baller in 1 week" teaser, but I think the "interview with nate1729 in next month's 2+2 Online Magazine" is more realistic.

At any rate, next time the Internet poker superstars don't recognize your screenname, you'll be able to play a different card than the "$33 PLO8 SNG" champ routine.

Congrats!!

Just a few things... overall you made around $20/h in this project which i think is quite impressive for such low stakes??

Now if you only had this $1000 what would be your next plan of attack to build on that? and what sort of hourly rate would you expect to be able to make??

Again congrats on your success!!

It was closer to $15/hr, not that I'm complaining.

There are (at least) two major paths to take from $1k, I think, or at least two next steps. One is just to stick with SNGs, move into higher and higher 1-tables, and make ICM a part of your basic psychology. Another is to hop into $50NL and build from there, possibly supplementing it with SNGs. I guess you could do limit poker too, but it's so swingy for a small bankroll, and you'll wind up with spitballs in your hair besides.

By the way, this question is much closer to reality than just a hypothetical for me. Long story, I am much more likely to end up without a stipend next year than I was before this week started. So I had to dissolve a bunch of my bankroll mid-week, and all of the sudden the stakes of the bet were higher. Made things more exciting. And yeah, without getting too much into my personal situation, this $1400 is a significant part of what I'm working with now.

PM? I don't neccessarily read these threads :]

I'm afraid that we can't' request tournament summaries any faster than players can via the client.
