The Jays also have this habit of having like -7 third-order wins every single year for no reason whatsoever, regardless of who is in the front office or on the team. I am pretty sure I read an article about how they are the unluckiest team of all time with regard to third-order wins.

Jays
.258/.325/.418
Al Average
.270/.338/.422

With RISP
Jays
.268/.341/.426
Al Average
.274/.355/.422

With RISP and 2 outs
.223/.321/.356
.252/.349/.396

Close and Late
Jays
.240/.308/.365
Al average
.255/.332/.390

There is nothing that significant in any of these numbers that show the Jays problems come from lack of timely hitting.

Kyle,
I think one of the main reasons they underachieve in third order wins is because there schedule is tougher than most. This year the Oriole and the Drays have been underachieving even more so than the Jays.

not winning the AL east after being up seven thousand games at the ASB is pretty ridiculous but it's not like it matters.

[/ QUOTE ]

The only reason I would disagree, is up until a couple of days ago, they had the 2nd best record post ASB in the AL. I think that honor goes to CLE now.

they are down in RISP2o like 30 or 40 pts in every category. Isn't that pretty well below average?

I feel like I need to post this in every thread the Jays are mentioned. THEY ARE NOT DOING WELL BECAUSE THE TWO BEST TEAMS IN BASEBALL ARE IN THE SAME DIVISION.

[/ QUOTE ]

Check the standings this morning. The Angels and Indians are the two best teams in baseball.

I am not sure the difference between the Angels and Indians is as great as most think.

RS vs RA vs RS-RA
Angels 787 681 106
Bluejays 689 643 46
Indians 766 667 99
Red Sox 812 622 190
Yankees 893 716 187

The Red Sox and Yankees are far and away the best baseball teams in the world. The Bluejays have put together a surprising defensive and pitching performance, but they aren't putting up enough runs to contend. I think they'd win any NL division, and are the 6th best team in the AL and MLB behind the Tigers.

I want you young people to imagine a time where only one team from the AL East was allowed into the playoffs.

Now you can imagine why we talk about this team breaking our hearts, and why the Yankees are so reviled.

okajima now officially out with a tired arm, not sure if you sox fans saw that or not.

Thanks James, are you just rubbing salt in the wound? Now go back to the Mets-collapse threads as they might not make the playoffs if they keep this up!
