I'd go for Pujols. The lack of protection will hurt his RBI/Runs, but shouldn't have an effect on his average or HR.

Decision time;

12 team 6x6
OBA, SLG, R, RBI, HR, SB
ERA, WHIP, W, K, HD, SV

Hanley Ramirez- The shoulder popped back into place before the inning ended, and Ramirez might be back in the lineup as early as Tuesday at Arizona, manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "It's nothing alarming right now," Gonzalez said. "He did it last year a little bit."

Carl Crawford-

Lance Berkman-Astros 1B Lance Berkman (swollen left hand) didn't start any of the three games against the Pirates after sitting out Sunday, but could play Monday night against the Dodgers.

Decision #1-I'd have to replace Ramirez with Weeks. The Brewers play seven games next week with two against left handed starters. I don't think Weeks will start more than four games next week, so if I can get some kind of confirmation that Ramirez will definitely play, I'd roll with him. Lineups don't lock until 6:35, so I should be able to get some more info.

Decision #2/#3-I've got Chris Young, Adrian Beltre, and Dave Roberts along with Berkman and Crawford to fill two spots. I'm leaning towards Beltre/Young. Everybody from that group plays seven games except Crawford, so with the injury risk, I think it's best I leave him on the bench. Houston is at home for LA and SD, so benching Berkman wouln't be a terrible, especially if he doesn't play every day. The Mariners are at Texas and home for Oakland. I usually like to get my bats in there against Texas pitching. The D'Backs are at home for Florida (4) and Atlanta.

Decision #4-My last pitcher spot. Escobar has a home game against Oakland. Marcum has two starts, one at home vs Johan Santan and one at Javier Vazquez. Betancourt plays seven games at home vs Boston and Minnesota. Villanueva is at Cincy and at St. Louis for seven games. He'd be my choice, due to his hold/win/K potential, but he's been getting shellacked lately. I need everything in pitching except WHIP.

Thoughts?

How much do we think BJ Upton is over-performing by? His BABIP is pretty sick high and his LD % doesn't indicate this is normal at all.

Can we expect a pretty big regression out of him?

He should regress a ton, but that still leaves him as a complete stud. Think Hanley Ramirez last year. Rarely do I like to trade away high ceiling guys like Upton without getting a kings ransom.

In a league that uses OBP SLG HR R SB do you think he is worth Garret Atkins?

I think Upton really is a stud and both his strikeout and walk rates appear to be improving as the year goes on, but his babip has to be at least .100 points over what he can sustain, which brings me to my question:

Can anyone point me in the direction of some good research on how much skill is involved for a hitter in accomplishing a good babip? And what kind of numbers can be sustainable? I see some good hitters who appear to be able to sustain numbers up around .350, but its something I'd like to learn more about.

I have a couple trades that I have been offered, that I want opinions on, and possible counteroffers, as I don't think I want either one as is. First, my roster:
C
B. Molina
1B
Todd Helton
2B
BJ Upton
3B
Chone Figgins
SS
Dustin Pedroia
OF
Maggs
Corey Hart
Willits
Util
David Ortiz
BN
M. Teahen
Josh Barfield
DL
Josh Hamilton
Miguel Tejada

SP
Sean Marshall
Andrew Miller
Zito
Owings
Dave Bush
Gil Meche
Gallardo
Chris Young
S. Mitre

RP
Izzy
Wagner
Alfonseca
Linebrink
Neshek

DL
Brett Myers
Shawn Hill

The first offer is Carmona for Figgins. His roster is:

C
Varitek
1B
Adrian Gonzalez
2B
Brandon Phillips
3B
Casey Blake
SS
Jimmy Rollins
OF
C. Granderson
C. Lee
B. Abreu
Util
Thome
BN
Delgado
D. Young
V. Wells
Brendan Harris
DL
Ian Kinsler

SP
Lackey
Escobar
Hudson
Chien-Ming Wang
Carmona
Marquis

RP
Borowski
Papelbon
Cordero
Todd Jones
Dempster

DL
Burnett
Henry Owens

The other one is Wigginton and Beltran for Upton and C. Young. This one I think is pretty horrible, but there may be an opportunity here somewhere as I know he's itching for Young. His roster:

C
Pudge
1B
P. Fielder
2B
Aaron Hill
3B
Garrett Atkins
SS
Hardy
OF
Vlad
Billy Butler
Torii Hunter
Util
Willy Taveras
BN
Ryan Howard
Wigginton
Beltran
K. Matsui
Brad Hawpe
DL
Blalock

SP
Brandon Webb
Capuano
Blanton
Maine
Bonderman

RP
Nathan
Al Reyes
Putz
Gagne
Saito
Gary Glover

This is a H2H league with daily transactions. We score R,HR,RBI,SB,K,F%,AVG,OPS offensively and W,L,SV,HR,K,ERA,WHIP,K/BB for pitching.

Where can I get some value here?

I should add that we keep 15 players every year.

Standard 13 team 5x5 Roto non-keeper league, except we count MTB (BB + total bases, not including HRs) rather than runs.

My team is

Russ Martin
Meat Hook
Lowell
Chone Figgins
Utley
Vidro
O. Cabrera
J. Dye
Rowand
R. Ibanez
Torii Hunter
J.D. Drew
F. Gutierrez
Griffey

J. Beckett
R. Hill
B. Penny
Verlander
S. Mitre
C. Marmol
J. Soria
B. Myers

On reserve, I have B. Fuentes, Miguel Tejada, Daniel Cabrera, B.H. Kim

What do we think about trading Griffey straight up for Oliver Perez and the sixth overall pick in our weekly free agent draft.

I'd go for Upton over Atkins. Hopefully you are starting Upton at second at not third.
