All bets every round are the same. In $2 straight, blinds are $1/$2, and every bet every round is $2. I think the blinds in $5 straight are $3/$5.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is close but slightly incorrect. A $2 straight game is $2 small AND big blinds, all bets and raises are $2 with a 3 raise per street maximum. $5 straight implies the same format, only with $5 blinds and raises allowing you to reach the maximum allowed bet in the state of FL.

That is not true; Every straight $2 game I have ever played had a $1 small blind and a $2 big blind. The difference between a 1/2 and Straight $2 game is that all bets are $2, instead of $1 the first two rounds and $2 the next two rounds, which is the only difference.

Derby Lane in St Pete used to have a single $2 blind in their straight 2 game, but they changed it to 1/2 blinds July 1st. That's the only place I've ever seen anything other than the small/big blind structure.

This is how good the games are in Jacksonville...LOL

"JACKSONVILLE, FL (AP) -- Authorities say a father was charged with child neglect after leaving his two young sons in a parked car by themselves while he played poker.

A St. Johns County Sheriff's Office report says thirty-six-year-old Terrence Bowman Davis was playing poker at St. Johns Greyhound Park while his two sons, aged 7 and 3, sat inside his car in the parking lot."

That is way way bad. SC at one time had legal video poker. Some dumb bitch left an infant who died in the car. That was
reason #1 it was rolled back. If you see anyone in a car in the parking lot, tell security, especially a kid or senior citizen, or vulnerable adult. Poker can be rolled back if we aren't careful, and this could do it. If a kid dies cuz dad was blowing his college fund, you can see the commercials.

A mother was convicted here in South Florida a year or so ago for leaving her kid in the car while she went to a movie. But there's been no talk of banning movies.
