Re: How bad is it that there was blood in my ear this morning?
See, I suspected that might be the case. I think I'll stick with Q-tips.

Mad:
You can just rinse out the ear cannel every time you take a shower. Then use toilet paper to dry and clean out the area. --GA |

MT,
don't clean down in your ear canal. Seriously. If you absolutely must clean in there, use a bulb and some ear wax remover. You'll harm your ears eventually. |

Re: How bad is it that there was blood in my ear this morning?
I've used Q-tips my whole life and I've never had a problem with my ears. I think I had an ear infection when I was 6 or something. I do use perioxide every once in awhile though.

Re: How bad is it that there was blood in my ear this morning?
I had this once, went to the doctor, turned out to be nothing, some sort of pimple inside my ear or something. You'll likely be allright, still go see a doctor though.

Re: How bad is it that there was blood in my ear this morning?
OP: Have you been listening to loud music lately?
Or do you have something that makes a continious sound in your bedroom? Do you have a cold, this can make some channels between the ears and the nose plug, and seriously mess with your ears. |

you have ebola
edit: in a few days you will be bleeding out of both ears, your nose, mouth, anus, urethra, and possibly your finger and toe nails and maybe even eyes. |

Re: How bad is it that there was blood in my ear this morning?
Shajen,
It was more due to my laziness than the fact that my doctor is incompetent (this was a student health situation, so maybe he actually wasn't competent though). They tried the waterpik thing, and some stuff came out, but I still couldn't hear. This waterpik thing in itself is quite an experience--water being pulsed directly on to your eardrum is LOUD and a bit uncomfortable. They put some type of oil into my ear, but said that it would take time to work, so I could come back the next day, or go buy the kit and do it myself. With that type of choice, I took the "do-it-yourself" route. |

Re: How bad is it that there was blood in my ear this morning?
sounds like it could be an ear infection. if you get water trapped behind the wax, that 's a good environment for bacteria to build up.
