3.5 years, lacto-ovo. I was 23 and cutting back on meat already because I wasn't enjoying it and for health reasons. Thanksgiving '02 is what finally did me in--meat overload. I had a turkey sandwich the day after and just said, "that's it, I'm done." Don't miss it a bit.

He? You mean Ed? He was veggie when I met him. Besides, he can eat meat if he wants to. I wouldn't stop him. (I might give that motherly "I'm disappointed in you" look, though).

It's not Elaine's fault, and it's not mine either....

Edward's choice and Edward's tofu.

I've been one since I was roughly 6 years old. It took a couple years before I stopped eating turkey at special occaisions, but there's been no meat at all for maybe 12-14 years.

You didn't have a problem at all eating meat? I've twice accidentally had meat since turning veggie (one bite each time) and each time I had a little bit of an upset stomach within about an hour. And I'm pretty sure that wasn't more of psychological reaction since I'm pretty relaxed about such things.

The most recent time, for example, I was playing live poker realized the slice of pizza I was offered had pepperoni on it and put it down, shrugged my shoulders and went back to focusing on the game not even thinking about the meat. Yet one hour later my stomach had a knot in it.

no, not remotely. i went straight back into it at full-speed with no ill effects.

i do have an iron stomach, but i think the "puke factor" is largely psychological.

Wow. I thought I was the only one. I have actually only been a vegetarian for about 4.5 years. Started Feb. 2002. It's good to know that there are other vegetarian poker players out there.

FYI the completed manuscript was given to Mason Sunday night. Now it's a matter of making up the pages, doing the index and glossary, and printing, binding, and distribution.
