Reward - Make PT work with WSEX

If you put in dummy-cards for the opponents then wouldn't that confuse P-Tracker into thinking "that person couldn't have won the hand with those cards".

Plus, you would have to make sure the same card isn't used twice and stuff like that.


If somehow you could incorporate dummy-cards just so that I could have the sessions tracked (and perhaps have VP/PFR and ag-factor of opponents) that would be great. But I'm guessing that straight-up dummy-cards wouldn't work and that it might be a bit more complicated than that.

Since I know virtually nothing about computers though and you actually do I am hopeful that you are able to prove me wrong.

Does PT 'RANK' the hands or just trust that the site got it right?

For example:
It says winning hand (dang need to edit and get a HH)

I see some interest in this and my worry now is that 2 or 3 people will create this causing unnecessary work. And potentially getting some people upset if I offered the reward and already sent the funds to someone else.

Thoughts on how to handle this?

For what it's worth, I think you guys should just learn to play poker without having to rely on these software programs. I've never used them, and I have no desire to.

Or maybe having it would improve YOUR game. People don't use PT just to "improve their game." It makes it easier to review certain hands, spot certain players, and very important to many here, keep track of winnings/losses. Sure, you can keep track of it yourself, but the PT software makes it much easier.

It's not an issue of "learning to play poker" without the software, as you put it. Many of us play on sites without PT support just fine. But why not seek to improve the situation? It makes perfect sense.

I vote for no software support as well.

EDIT: I also agree with the BurgerKing head above me. PT is fine. No "during play" software support.

I haven't played at WSEX but the ability to track the basic stats on people and myself would be plenty if the individual hands are problematic.

I changed it so we don't know winners cards.

Now say we gave winner the Qc (Which we know he had, and made the missing cards the 2d.

Note: the 2d is on the board. But can PT tell that the 'new' fake hand was not a pair of queens but 2 pair?

And yes there would be 2 2d in this hand but would that screw anything up?

My hand would still show as Ac Kc and how much I lost right?
Sure the Replay would look funny. But does Pt actually figure out there are 2 of the same card?

I would make EVERY unknown card the 2d. If it won't totally mess with things.

Yes I agree it will make it more awkward, but probably not impossible to do.

It will be possible to "screen scrape" for the cards, but if the tables are overlapping then this will likely cause problems for this method.

A better option is to hook the BitBlt calls, and this was you can see the cards even if another table obscures them. Sadly though this method is a real pain bc you have to then track the BitBlt from the back-buffer onto the table window, and it is the reason my DollarToBB application has stagnated a bit atm. When I get the code done so DollarToBB can work with multiple limits, then it should be possible to reuse it for this too.

I see that WSEX is using ssl also, but it may actually be possible to hook some of the packet data which tell the clients which cards to show, but this is pretty tricky too bc of the ssl stuff.
