Some unusually good and moderate advice here on this today.
I'd echo the advice to drop soda and only drink water. That alone will help enormously. Your body thrives on taking in a good amount of water every day, too. People are often under-hydrated and even mistake thirst for hunger. Keeping yourself properly hydrated with some good clean water is very healthy. |

I would also recommend going to Whole Foods or really just any somewhat-nice grocery store and buying all different sorts of healthy foods. It's good to have variety.

Wow. Excellent work you guys.
I've still got a couple questions though. I've never been a huge soda drinker and for the last couple years I drink only diet soda. Is this still detrimental or can I have a diet Coke w/ my lunch? What about coffee in the morning? |

Diet sodas are mostly filtered water. I will be flamed for this but you would have to drink huge amounts for any detriment to override the hydration benefits. Huge amounts = cases per day.

I'm at Burgerville and it's all over. [/ QUOTE ] You realize that the battle is not the "Burgerville" part but the "all over" part? You wont stick to a diet perfectly for ever because you're human, not perfect. The battle is right after you go off your diet. Just because you go to burgerville doesn't mean it has to be "all over" but your psychy is waging psychological warfare against you by demanding impossible perfection. Well, you just wage psychological warfare right back and after you go to burgerville once get right back on your diet and claim victory. This is how you change old eating habits permanently. |

Another question.
Can I eat as much fruit and veggies as I want to? |

Another question. Can I eat as much fruit and veggies as I want to? [/ QUOTE ] Basically yes if the fruits and veggies are not saturated in butter, whipped cream, and salad dressing. There are a few that are high in fat (avocados which are good fat and coconuts which are bad fat, for example), and should be eaten in moderation. Otherwise you can pretty much eat all you want and all your digestion can handle. The darker in color, the better the fruit and veg are for you (spinach is better than iceberg lettuce, for example, and blueberries are better for you than apples)--but basically they are all good. |

Okay, cool.
I've often wondered that. For instance right now I'm hungry enough to eat the bark off a tree, but I've already had lunch. I'd like to eat some fruit until I'm not hungry anymore, and that might be more than one apple. |

If not, then you should have a regular coke because neither is good for you. Ingeneral, you should be drinking water for thirst, and drinking other beverages for enjoyment. So don't just slam diet coke with meals. If you want a not good for you drink, savor it. |
