because having nioce things is a luxury... its one of the biggest reasons many ppl work hard.
a nice watch is something that will last a long time and dressing well should make you feel good about yourself...

as far as the comment about cars, that is even more ridic... have u never driven a nice car? what the hell are u driving right now? its a luxury to own things that look good and perform well.
