Re: a completely unrealistic and impossible way to save the NHL
Are the Canadian teams going to have a huge edge now that their money is worth way more than the American teams? Wait, they have to pay Canadian taxes though...

Re: a completely unrealistic and impossible way to save the NHL
Mexican Pesos will be the new official currency of the NHL.
All the referees have to wear big, purple sombreros. The penalty box will now be a phone-booth type structure right on the center dot. The booth spins around rapidly through the duration of the penalty so that all the fans can giggle when his penalty is over and he stumbles out of the box all dizzy. Face-offs will be changed from a quick-drop of the puck to the referee shooting it straight up into the air with one of those air-gun thingees. |

Re: a completely unrealistic and impossible way to save the NHL
"Hey look! A team has been in a non-traditional hockey market for less than 15 years and hockey's not more popular than baseball, football, or basketball in that market. Let's move them to Canada. That'll make hockey more popular in North America!"

Re: a completely unrealistic and impossible way to save the NHL
In other words, people who think like the OP are morons that should never, ever be in charge of any business decisions. There are more people in California than Canada and Canada is doing pretty well with hockey viewership. Why should the NHL make more efforts to be popular in Canada over the US?

[/ QUOTE ] MicroBob with some quality work in this thread. Regarding OP's ideas I'm at least intruiged. What I don't understand(although I don't follow hockey closely) is why so many old Canadian teams like Winnipeg have had to move...if hockey is so big there why would they ever leave? 102,108 and counting |

What about the point system? I think it should switch to 3-0 for regulation and 2-1 for overtime. [/ QUOTE ] how about no stupid ass point system and ties. and maybe a game that doesnt take so fkin long to score sometimes that it ends up in a tie. just good old fashioned wins and losses like every other sport. |
