clearly not since all the advice is to fold, because AK = Q10 here..

Just seems to me to be a pretty crazy way to turn a hand into a bluff

I agree that this line is really strange, but I think it is an oddly played 45 or A7s quite often. I probably talk myself into a call, though, TBH, as there are only a few combos of value-betting hands that make sense.

flushes so often

[/ QUOTE ]

you really think a guy this aggro check calls twice with a naked flush draw ?

[/ QUOTE ]

suprisingly often I think

trying to "mix up" their play w/ top pair etc.

Actually he is right, villain could definitely have a medium pair turned into a bluff, and if we called and won that's what I expect him to have

[/ QUOTE ]

i think a huge part of villain's range if we're ahead is 56 that figures it can make a plus EV call oop because he can rep the flush if it comes.

and yeah, i think this is a call because his line makes no sense for a flush and i think even if it's -EV to call (which I don't think it is) it's superimportant to know who plays flush draws that poorly so you can make thinner value bets on future turns against villain to charge him for draws and be able to own him in general

The only reasonable 4 is 45, floating flop with AT is unlikely, its already been discussed that there aren't any reasonable flushes.

I think most of the hands that we fold with a shove, we beat anyway.

I don't know villain, but OP said he was 19/16. Not sure if he would defend his BB with a small suited connector, or if he would 3bet it as opposed to calling. If 56 is in his range then so are things like 67, 78, etc. I'm not sure how likely this player is either to turn a made hand into a bluff, though.

I'm starting to think a call is alright as well, but it's really thin and without much of a read I would fold.

Nobody folds a flush here, 60% of his stack is already in.

777 will play like this. a7 will play like this. a4 will play like this. ace ten could play like this.

Looks to me like he is either hoping the ace helped your hand, therefore making it more likely you will call OR the ace helped his. If he has a flush, I'll be pissed.
