dude those bikes are built for 50 yo women. [/ QUOTE ] I did wonder whether the thing did work but that it was too [censored] to be noticeable. When I'm at home I usually ride up hills in the highest gears to give me a decent workout. But this exercise bike is so [censored] in the highest gear, I doubt a 50 yo woman would find it anything but easy. |

Re: Some advice please
i was gonna say immediately after i read the op that its your responsibility to bring the bike back, and i stick by that.
this is due to the possibility that it broke on the way to your place. also dont let her pick it up because then she will know where you live. |

Re: Some advice please
Her knowing where I live does worry me a bit. I really can't afford to have wasted £40 and several hours on this though. I'm busy and poor. I also know where she lives already, so that would be a stalemate I suppose.
I'll see how she replies to my last e-mail. If she agrees to come and pick it up, or leave it here, we will have come to an ultimatum. If she demands further that I bring it back to her, I'll have to consider that I suppose. |

Re: Some advice please
I find this little dispute fascinating.
Please keep us updated. FWIW, I'm siding with you. As the seller, she should be able to demonstrate that it's in good working order. You guys should split the transport cost. Else she can come over and show you how to make it work and you can split transport cost to your house. |

Re: Some advice please
heh i dont know if you've done this already but you need to get a friend or two round and let them try and get it working. if it turns out that the bike works then you are gonna look like a complete idiot.
assuming it is broken, you have been fair-ish and your last email is good. |

Re: Some advice please
Here's another idea...buyers are inherently stupid and sellers should be held up to a higher standard.

Re: Some advice please
Dude, I'm not meaning to hate or troll, but if you can't afford 40 quid and are so broke and poor, wtf are you doing with an exercise bike? It kinda seems like an item you get once you have all your basic needs taken care of.
As far as the thread goes, I think it's your responsibility to bring it back in this case, simply because a) You don't want her to know where you live. b) You didn't make sure the bike was in full working order before taking it home. |
