Re: An AKo UI hand oop against a lag
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] 1) In Schneids vids he plays unknowns for the most part. There is no way you can apply what he does in his vids to a spot where we specifically play a good LAG 2) I am 100% sure that Schneids valuebets A high rather often That said, I seem to disagree with myself. I dont hate c/c at all. Just saying that there is plenty of spots where you should bet. Also. You should be VERY VERY careful with taking things away from Scneids vids and not think further about it. [/ QUOTE ] Everything you say is correct although I expect you replied to my post as I was editing in the extra Stox stuff. My thoughts are very mixed at the moment getting back into the limit mold which has changed a good deal since last I played it as my regular game. I expect it will take me some time to correlate my thoughts and lines correctly and adapt them to the games in the right spots. [/ QUOTE ] Indeed I did. What is important that you dont miss here is that the spot is very different depending on villain being a good LAG or a LAGfish Against a LAGfishyou can c/c all day. Against a good LAG you will be owned no matter what you do. |

Re: An AKo UI hand oop against a lag
Thanks Oink. Discussions like this go a long way to getting a greater understanding of the "whys" and not just the "hows" of limit poker.

Re: An AKo UI hand oop against a lag
[ QUOTE ]
Stealthy. You dont think a LAG would have raised all those missed draws earlier? Betting > c/c on most rivers vs good LAGs imo. [/ QUOTE ] I dont want to assume that he raises all these draws earlier just by looking at his preflop stats. Ive seen a fair number of 40/20 types that play really straight forward postflop. |

[/ QUOTE ] so given the fact that we don't have a solid read yet, it looks like we should choose the line that will let us learn the most about our opponent. is this reasonable? if so, am i correct in thinking that you'll learn more with c/c than with b/c or b/f? |

Re: An AKo UI hand oop against a lag
yeah, but he could either be a lagfish who bluffs too much or one who doesn't bluff enough on the river, we don't know that. just knowing he's 40/20 and cold called preflop isn't enough to make an accurate guess at his river tendencies... or is it?

[/ QUOTE ] No its not. But its a good signal. It really isnt too many LAGs out there who both own souls and coldcall first in. |
