A read on an opponent can be just as valuable as your position.

Case in point.
I could never have done this without a read.
Bonus: I got called a donkey for the first time ever.

Post debatable hands in this thread/forum...loosen up by playing hands like aqs/ajs/kq suited when the situation is good.

Hi Magica,

I wrote an article that may help you get there, titled The Mistakes Low-Limit SNG Players are Making the Most... here's a link:

I would never make a floating play like this on the flop at such an early level. I think this is a pretty horribly played hand and definitely not worth it. Also if you're going to bluff the turn, raise 3x at least lolz.

[/ QUOTE ]
1. Well I would, and did. I take risks. I'd rather take my risks early than late. I have a lot of weaknesses at this stage in my poker "career" (beginner). I don't know all the +EV plays, I don't have stats on people or even myself. But I know I can read people. I read betting patterns, the time it takes someone to bet, past behavior, etc...

2. When villain bet the flop, I knew he didn't have a Jack. I figured he had a two. If I didn't get the king on the river I would have bet. As it stood, I figured I'd just showdown my king and win.

1. Definitely worth it - in terms of table image.
2. Villain was on tilt for the rest of his short time in the game.
3. I won the SNG.

Here's another "read" hand that I'm sure you'll find equally horrible.
