AS missing the point again. It depends on his calling range. It's not ZOMG 99 4 handed 3b ldo. Some players don't adjust. I call alot here and i'm playing it for pair value more then set value.

but they've been playing for a while, so op should know whether villain is adjusting or not.

and given villain's stats i took the fact that hero 3bet to indicated such

edit: prob assuming too much though

we werent given that inof, if he has adjusted and calls 3b lighter then 3b 99 is good. However, his stats suggest that he sucks

Can AS and US just get along, and stop quibbling about the little things rather than mocking and berating me.

FWIW I prefer a preflop 3 bet to call, and I would also fire turn.

how is the pf 3bet not standard here? c/f turn.

"omg 99 is a drawing hand call for set value!"

How about playing poker and keeping the pot small OOP? Or sometimes balancing your play?

the only reason that even comes close to being valid

[/ QUOTE ]

Nope. The first reason is more important. Because we hate it to not get to see a flop with 99

I rarely 3bet 99 for exactly the reasons Isura gave. Neither option is bad though and anyone who thinks otherwise just doesn't understand pre-flop poker.

3betting preflop is more profitable than calling, its not even close
