Re: Some questions for Part/Full Time Multi-tablers
[ QUOTE ]
sometimes you'll find a 3/6 that's tougher than a 30/60. :P [/ QUOTE ] sure, but that's rare. I'm saying the 10/20 games are softer than the 5/10 fairly often. The number I gave was 35%, but that's a rough estimate with no data to back it up. fwiw, my roommate and I both play AP mid stakes limit for a living, and we have both independently made this same observation. |

Re: Some questions for Part/Full Time Multi-tablers

sometimes you'll find a 3/6 that's tougher than a 30/60. :P [/ QUOTE ] Tougher to beat probably. I constructed a little chart based upon Full Tilt rake at various levels. If you were playing full ring games among a group of inferior player who you could beat for 3 BB/100 in a no rake game, these would be your win rates at various levels against the exact same line-up in a raked game: 30/60= 2.44 BB/100 15/30= 2.01 BB/100 10/20= 1.52 BB/100 5/10= .78 BB/100 3/6= .53 BB/100 2/4= .22 BB/100 1/2= -.7 BB/100 So the very low stakes player would think that he is just not good enough to beat these players. While the 30/60 player would think they are all fish. Or perhaps the low stakes guy just wonders why he can't beat tables full of fish. Of course, the play skill does drop off as you move down but I don't believe it is at a linear rate and certainly not on pace with the rake increase. This is why I think that 5/10 is the toughest to beat. You actually have small stakes pros at this level and the overall drop in skill vs the middle limit games is not enough to compensate for the rake difference. Below 10/20 you must out class the field by a very wide margin for the venture to be worth much money. |
