Here is a source with a bit more creditability than myself with similar views... Yeah!

Party Going Private?

[/ QUOTE ]
If the average USA fish can't deposit without jumping through hoops, then Party will just end up full of PokerStars' nits... [img]/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]

Maybe it'll be good for those cashing in on the Party stock price, but I don't think it'll be such a good for the Party playerbase.

hmm -- I didn't think about it in those terms but that makes good sense. The only counter might be that those US players that stopped because the UIGEA made online poker 'feel' more illegal to them -- might come back if they see the ex-king of poker rooms return...

If you have any Money in Party Stocks and are on the winning side, get out FAST!

If that "online poker is illegal" [censored] in the us stops (yeah, i know it's not an if it's a "when") do you think all the players will run back to party? no [censored] way. Party had the very best of all marketing departements in the right time in the PAST not more, not less. What about Playtech/Ipoker, BWIN/ongame? they've not the dumbest marketing departements as well... think about WillHill, Ladbrokes etc... what about MGMMirage, Harrahs? As soon as online poker will be legalised in the US the CURRENT Giants will take over...and i didn't even mention stars and tilt... forget [censored] Partypoker, it's a thing of the past...

[/ QUOTE ]

I humbly disagree with this...

[/ QUOTE ]Sorry but for me he's 100% right. Not only will the "real" big guys come in, but there's no guarantee that the US will allow formerly illegally operating sites to take American play.

You may want to spend some time browsing the legislation forum before proclaiming what is and is not illegal.

[/ QUOTE ]Sorry, I put that badly. However the point remains that you can see it being very hard for sites who in the view of the DoJ are "bad guys" being able to get licenses.
