OP thinks A9 is the nutz!!! Seriously I love 68 and 79 suited when you can limp into a multiway pot. You either hit big or get out of the way. Straight draw, flush draw, and two pair will happen more than most people realize.

Wow, poletard. You didn't even say what position we're in, or what the action is before us. Even then, it would still be a dumb pole that wouldn't help anyone play better.

[ QUOTE ] so I posted to get a general consensus. [/ QUOTE ] Good luck with that. [/ QUOTE ] 21-4-3 seems pretty consensus to me, especially since the one word response to my assertion that 86s was more valuable was 'lolz'. |

Again, there's not enough information given to make a definitive answer. |

Wow, poletard. You didn't even say what position we're in, or what the action is before us. Even then, it would still be a dumb pole that wouldn't help anyone play better. [/ QUOTE ] was a general statement, not a question on a specific hand. Imagine if, for example, you were told that one hand you will be dealt once an orbit and can choose 1 of the 3. The action before you/ your position will be random, but the distribution of one of these 3 hands will be much higher than normal. And it wasn't designed with priority 1 to help someone play better, it was designed to resolve a dispute. But it can easily help someone play better by considering what types of hands are good to play in given game circumstances. I've been berated for calling a raise to $5 with 8c5c on the button. That person obv doesn't understand implied odds, reverse implied odds, express odds, and a litany of other very important NL concepts that play into preflop decisionmaking. So there. And october sky, A9 is obv the nuts, I didn't put it in the pole b/c it would win by 100%. |

Suited/Gapped connectors really are as weak as they appear. The amount of money you will lose trying to hit a miracle flops will out-weigh profits from hands that you do win.
If you have a PT database with, say, 500,000+ hands then I'd be surprised to see anyone showing significant profit from these hands even if we just look at button position stats. Against the type of opponents described, they will be playing all aces meaning: You will get paid when an Ace flops as you will be ahead 80% of the time. (And even lower pairs will call you down.) It will generally be easy to get away from the hand (when you hit your Ace) if you are behind because these type of loose calling stations are very bad as disguising strong hands. Unbelievable poll result. Presumably a lot just voted for 86s because it's the "cool" choice? |

97s 0.88PTBB per hand, 86s 0.79 PTBB per hand. And that's not some strange "6 guys to the flop" game...

[/ QUOTE ] Plus I have somehow the feeling that your statements contradict each other a little. I think it's gonna be tough to get away from a hand which is, as you assumed, ahead 80% of the time just because villains can not disguise their hands very well... |
