Re: i has a bottom set, board started bad and got worse - 140 deep
he has 67 or an overpair here a lot.
villains like this don't typically c/minraise flush draws on the flop. They like to do this with what they consider to be good made hands. Of course sometimes you're oversetted, and rarely a guy like this will indeed have the flush. But getting these odds you've definitely got to call. Nick: I put this guy on 67/A7/88+, in addition to the stuff that beats you. |

[/ QUOTE ] Ok, ime a passive guy like this doesn't push a made hand worse than TP into you when not having the initiative (maybe not even then). And I also think almost any kind of player like to min-raise their draws on the flop (from any position anytime, anywhere). I think this line is a flush a huge ammount. 77/66/QQ relatively frequently. 76s not often, but sometimes. Somekind of 88-JJ not ever. |

Re: i has a bottom set, board started bad and got worse - 140 deep
nick, i'm never worried about a higher set here. this guy didn't flatcall the 3b to shove a flushing turn. unfortunately this also rules out overplayed two pair...
but eh, i call |

if we are planning to fold to a turn shove on a scarecard turn, isnt our flopraise about the most perfectly wrong size? |

[/ QUOTE ] I basically agree with this. Sometimes he'll slowplay 77/66/76s on he flop and think "oh crap" on the turn, like I do everytime I try to slowplay anything on the flop, but push the turn anyway. He's more likely to push 77/66 on the turn though, because these still have a relatively high value vs our range. He's not likely at all to push 88-JJ because they're junk. Edit: Also consider my af is 4 rather than 0.8. |

Nick,
this all comes down to experience with what we view as "this kind of player," but in my experience anyway this is very often an overpair, which a guy like this generally views as the nuts. |
