Re: Curb Your Enthusiasm 9/16
[ QUOTE ]
The way their building up something between Cheryl and Ted (and, by extension, between Larry and Ted) implies that the "Ted came on the bear" story will definitely come out later this season. [/ QUOTE ] i can maybe see where ur going with this, however based on the ending of the episode i'd have to discount ur notion and make the prediction that this will be a "meh" season. if it was ended a little differently with a notion of foreshadowing i'd say ur on to something, but as of right now i'm going with my former decision. |

Re: Curb Your Enthusiasm 9/16
the only thing that is "meh" about curb is you guys melodramatic over analysis.
they are arguing about CUM ON A BEAR. THAT IS FUNNY LEON BRINGS THE RUCKUS TO THE LADIES. LARRY CHASES BLACK KIDS IN A SHEET. THEY GO AROUND TOWN STEALING JOE PEPPITONE JERSEYS. LARRY PLAYS WAR WITH A BLACK GUY. this isn't the sopranos people. |

Solid...not as good as the first ep, but still pretty good. Anytime Larry is around black people, it's bound to be funny.

Re: Curb Your Enthusiasm 9/16

[ QUOTE ] Actually I loved the episode, aside from getting just a little sick of the liberal lean, and seeing Senator Boxer for like 5 minutes tilted me for the rest of the night. FWIW she's exactly as insane in person and always appears to be on Prozac. [/ QUOTE ] Beyond the fact that the characters actually are liberal (a big shocker for jewish folk in hollywood) I wouldn't say this show really has a liberal lean. Mostly it makes everybody involved look like an ass. I thought this ep was pretty good. I enjoy positioning Ted Danson as an [censored], 'cause I'm pretty sure he is. [/ QUOTE ] No offense, Dids, but if you really don't see a "liberal lean" on CYE, I must admit to being very surprised. The simple fact that all of the characters are Lefties makes the show left-leaning. Conservative outsiders (Jeff's brother-in-law, the stage actress from The Producers, etc) are all made to look ludicrous. I love the show, and wouldn't change it for the world, and I believe almost everyone deserves to be "made to look ludicrous," but objectively--there's a definite liberal slant to the show. But so what? It's one of the only funny things on the damned television machine. |

Rushmore, Nice job totally not understanding my point! [/ QUOTE ] Not agreeing with your point (which was, clearly, that although the show is peopled entirely with liberals who have well-known agendas, the story-lines are equal-opportunity offenders in that they disparage pretty much everyone, regardless of their slant [I suppose mocking the handicapped, gays and lesbians would be good examples]) is much different from not understanding your point. |

"you gonna buy me a bed larry?" lol [/ QUOTE ] yeah that line totally cracked me up. This season is awesome so far. Jeff casually admitting to rubbing one out in the David's spare bedroom was hilarious. And any epsiode with Susie going off on Larry is good stuff. |
