Default all-in chips at 2006 wsop: HUGE DIFFERENCE

The difference is that milwalkees best was handing them out to the PLAYERS, and nobody bothered to mention that if you tossed that chip in, IT WAS BINDING. And yes, there were some controversies at the tables over that little faux-paus. Pure harrahs brilliance at its best.

What is to be gained by this system?

Here's the biggest upside to the system: when that "ALL-IN" marker hits the table, all nonsense STOPS. This thing gets everybody to pay attention. Nobody ever acts out of turn when the "Serious Poker Hand In Progress" marker hits the felt. You never have to prompt somebody with, "The action is on you, sir."

It's awesome. You have to see it in action to get the full effect.

(I've seen the "ALL-IN" button used, but I've never seen the "CALL" button used. I can imagine some circumstances where that causes more confusion than it clears up--like if a third player with an even bigger stack moves in after the first call was made and marked.)

Well can't we just have a button that says cut the nonsense and put it up every hand?

I've seen the buttons used, taken away, and put back into place in several casinos in SoCal. But above posters were right --- the MGM poker room is particularly noisy, with the Sportsbook and Centrifuge Bar right there.

Sounds like a PITA to me.

What about this situation.layer A bets $200 he has much more so he doesn't get a card.

Player B only has $150 and calls. Does he get a card? does it say all-in or call? Player C calls and still has money?

Who if anyone has cards what do they say?

What is to be gained by this system?

They've used an all in button at some LA rooms for a while now and AFAIK there haven't been any problems. Any time a player is all in, whether from a raise or a call the dealer is supposed to throw over a button - multiples for multiple all in's although I think most dealers just carry 2 or 3. As someone else noted, it cuts down all the side [censored] and focuses everyone. No one wants to have to push out 5+ stacks of chips. And it helps focus the dealer also (who may be dealer at the end of his shift, etc). I'm all for this type of button.

Would at least agree that using a card that says Call is probably a siource of confusion.
