are these U.S. Americans or just regular Americans?

The 90%-130% made me

Lying Americans. On one episode 50% of women said they had personally changed a flat tire, not a chance in hell. And another question was "What percentage of women if they could have GPS tracking on their SO and know where they were at all times would do it" Something like 17% said they would, the actual number has gotta be something around 99.87%

[/ QUOTE ]

yeah polls like this never work, because for example, women think "i was there when he changed it, it was like i was changing it!" or "just cause im a woman i cant change a tire?!"

Yeah seriously. I've never even been to Oregon and I've been to Maine numerous times and I still thought Oregon.

It would obviously depend on the context. But in this country, if it were ambiguously used (e.g. "Did you hear about Paris?" or "I was in Paris with a few friends last month"), I would be surprised if the majority of people thought of France.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is [censored] hilarious!!

I watched this with pops last night. We both said at least 60. You're telling me that if you asked people if they thought of Hilton or France when you say Paris that less than 30% are saying Hilton? No [censored] way. If you did that test where you say the first thing that comes to mind it would go: Hamburger-ketchup, Portland-Oregon, Phoenix-Suns, Paris-Hilton. I guarantee more than 50% would say Hilton. Now, if you gave people some time to think about they might not want to admit that so they said France just to not sound like bafoons.

I'll admit I personally hate sounding like a bafoon.

Yeah, I think there would be a big difference between

"Did you hear about Paris?"

and

"What's the first thing that you think of when you hear Paris?"

if i was asked what the first word that comes to mind hearing 'Paris' i would have to say 'sucks' but that doesn't really answer the question.
