Grunching thread.

In some states (like mine) it's a real legal liablity to give a negative reference. I've heard all kinds of different opinions on how that technically works, but using the Thumper rule is probably a good idea.

LOL @ the legal advice...it makes me want to pull my hair out.

Anyway, if you are going to opine, stick to the facts, and I would only talk about things you know from your experience working with the person. If you are going to give an opinion, back it up with facts ("This person is unreliable. Here are some examples why..." or "This person was a hard worker. She would regularly..."). I would NOT mention what you heard from a co-worker, even one you respect and figure is telling the truth.

Did you witness this yourself? If not, then you can't comment on the weird behavior traits. Simple as that.
