Re: Ever think about who we assasinate?
[ QUOTE ]
IMO you guys look at that stance incorrectly. He knew that in order for our country to survive, these states simply couldn't secede if they felt like it. [/ QUOTE ] Yes, but what's so special about America? What happened to people being able to choose a new government anytime they want? |

Re: Ever think about who we assasinate?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Lincoln doesn't belong on this list IMO. [/ QUOTE ]without getting into an indepth discussion about Lincoln, my understanding is that people should be treated the same. This belief wasn't based on religion either, but more of a moralist view. Lincoln was an interesting guy. In some ways, his views on society were very similar to Franklins. [/ QUOTE ] In a way, you're right; lincoln thought everyone should be treated the same: as a subject of an American Empire. |

[ QUOTE ] Jesus is a character in a story. I'm sure if must hurt when they stopped writing the character.. Lincoln is one of the biggest murderers in the history of the United States. I don't know who Bobby or Malcolm X are. [/ QUOTE ] Are you saying that jesus was not crucified? [/ QUOTE ] Are you saying that Jesus is not a character in a story? Deleted |

Re: Ever think about who we assasinate?
[ QUOTE ]
You are an idiot if you think Malcolm X preached equality, and probably completely brain dead if you think he taught harmony, and peace. [/ QUOTE ] He did after his trip to Mecca. Why do you think he seperated from the Nation of Islam? Why do you think they assassinated him? |

[ QUOTE ] I have no purpose, directly or indirectly, to interfere with the institution of slavery in the states where it exists. I believe I have no lawful right to do so, and I have no inclination to do so. [/ QUOTE ] Whats so shocking about this? The man was a true republican. Re: Ever think about who we assasinate?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] And we all know what he was getting at with teh jesus comment....google historical jesus, there is more evidence supporting the existence than not. [/ QUOTE ] To this point, I do agree, but that doesn't mean I think there isn't room for legitimate debate. I don't know if I would use the word 'evidence', but yeah, if I had to place a bet on whether he existed or not, I'd wager that he did. [/ QUOTE ] I don't know one way or the other, but there are probably 1000+ times as many people looking for evidence that Jesus existed than looking for evidence that he didn't, so it doesn't seem surprising that there is more evidence of the former in the historical record. It's also a lot easier to prove a positive than a negative. |

Re: Ever think about who we assasinate?
Ill spell it out really clearly. Whether Jesus is a character in a story, has NO relevancy to whether he really existed or not, in this particular context. Are you two stupid to see this? because I can put it in coloring book form if you need more help.
