Some answers...

Game Host ("mod", "rander", etc.)

There's a Host in human-run games and a Game Starter in automatic games. Both types start a new game using the Game Setup Pages. Page 1 options are the same for both types of games. Page 2 options are different depending on whether games are human or auto. After those pages, there's a Preview Page. This is the last step before the following:

- Game is entered into the database.
- Game Thread is created.
- Specified roles are randomized.
- PMs go out to the players.
- Game Host receives a PM with the rand() results, Game Starter (who can also play) does not.

There's way too much to explain about the actual game features. The best way to see everything in action is to play. Here's a brief overview...

1) Submit votes without posting using the QuickVote dropdown. When a vote is sent in, a timestamped post is created in the thread.

2) Submit votes with your post using normal replies and radio buttons on the reply page. These votes are posted and timestamped at the bottom of the user's post.

3) Built in Player Notes that can be saved for each game and edited whenever.

4) A Game Info display after the last post that shows the following:

<ul type="square">[*]Day Number[*]Time Remaining - a countdown clock for each round[*]Total Players[*]Active Players - # of players remaining[*]Your Role[*]If Wolf - list of other wolves[*]If Seer - list of all your peeks[*]During the Day - current vote count is displayed (fully colored and formatted)[*]During the Night - night action links and deadline for Wolf/Seer submissions[/list]5) Automatic night action submissions for Seers and Wolves.

6) Automated vote counting. Counts are displayed in the Game Info box all day long and automatic vote counts are displayed every X minutes (set by the Host) as posts for rereads. There is also a Vote Count button for players to request vote counts if they want one posted at a specific time in the game.

7) Thread locking at Night and if the game is paused by the Host. Thread unlocking at Day and if a paused game is resumed.

8) Automatic writeups for pregame, opening day, dusk, dawn, and final (if selected by the Host).

9) Ability to have a CoHost in any game. Features to replace any player or the Host/CoHost if needed.

There's probably more that I'm not thinking of right now. It's a really awesome system and it took MUCH MUCH time to develop. Even at that, we're most likely missing a few things.

I've been told several times this evening that Our House is pretty dumb. Starting a thread like this late on a Friday afternoon with no predefined signup time is LOL. [img]/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img]
