How fast do you think you could spend your inheritance, not including investments (housing, stocks, buying a company, etc), like just blowing it on useless crap like $10,000 backscratchers?

pfft. 200mil,

WHilst my familys net worth is about a 2% of this, my best friend has a more than a billion.(not more than 2 tho). I went to private day shcool with him we had people that boarded tho.

From what you have described upbringing/inheritance wise appears similiar.

To what extent do you think money = happiness (if at all?)

[/ QUOTE ]

To a certain extent yeah. Once you meet your basic needs a certain level of luxury increases your happiness, but you get diminishing returns after that. Money also equates to power, which can give you a rush if you don't get too bigheaded and self destruct. My family is pretty modest (unless we're drunk and braggig on internet forums for the hell of it ), so hopefully I don't become jaded.

Do you like horseracing also?

Gambling appears to be rought throughout these type families as a way to show how little they value money, have you experienced this?

Have you ever worked a real job?

Is your families networth singular (as in one primary investment) or is it more an accumulation of assets?

Do you find people will treat you differently once they find out how much you are worth?

Only child?

Do you live by yourself yet?

Do you have ANY ambitions? What reason do you have to even wanna work a job?

[/ QUOTE ]

Good questions, I might need another beer before I get really philosophical, but I'll give it a go. I guess my main goal is to be happy. The money allows me to satisfy material ,and bodily needs. However, I feel there is a third aspect to happiness, maybe call it "spiritual needs". To feel like you've given back to society, helped other, acheived things on your own, etc... So I guess I feel obligated to work or volunteer to fulfill these needs. Politics is always a traditonal "job" to pursue once you have money. It's something I'm strongly considering as it seems like it could be rewarding. I also fall into the mindset of viewing money making as a game, with the size of the bank account as the number of points you have scored. I trade a lot of stocks and options and will probably enter finance once I get out of college ... You could say I have an ambition to increase the number of points in my score for its own sake...

Did you go to college? How much work did you put into school, considering you're set for life?
