Re: Ask me about India
Al,
I've never been to Goa. I know it's really cheap in India, although nowhere near Thai cheap. Allinlife, Pretty common I would say. The main difference nowadays is they get to meet a few months before to see if they're compatible as opposed to meeting for the first time on their wedding day. People try to marry within the same caste, or higher. The best way to go higher is to pay a big fat dowry. Both people get a choice whether they want to marry or not. Shipit, My family's from Madras (chennai now). The beggars always hit us because it's very obvious we're foreign. Yea it's pretty common to be firm with them. All, The wedding is being held in Hyderabad. My flight landed a few hours after the terrorist bombings here in Hyderabad. Things are pretty crazy here, 40 people dead. |

Re: Ask me about India
[ QUOTE ]
I did the whole north of india, man the accomodation is so good, all 6 star hotels (yes 6). Where abouts are you from? Do you find it full on when you go back? or is the begging towards you not as bad because you're indian yourself? My first day there nobody told me not to talk to the beggers, so i had the 7 year old girl following me, like full on by my side for an hour...lets just say, by the end of the trip whenever a begger approached me i would tell them to [censored] off [/ QUOTE ] they even work harder then american beggers. we should outsource begging to india. |
