It's completely retarded to NOT have threaded emails. I don't know how I lived without them and I feel bad for anyone still using Outlook

Oooh, a morbid answer. 9/11 level terrorism seems like a 21st century idea which has had a huge impact on my life.

I agree this was a monumental event that had an impact on many lives. I was wondering if you'd care to elaborate about the affect it had on you? It sounds like you may have more to say on the subject.

Within the next 5 years they will be releasing to teh consumer a new type of "computer screen" that is about as thin as a credit card, and can be made to be as big as you want it to be, and runs off very little power. It bends like paper, and will basically be pretty cheap. This will be the thing that really revolutionizes stuff imo, and I have no doubt the military has already outfitted planes with this stuff, so tehy can project blue sky/rocks/clouds etc to completely hide plans to the naked eye.

Haven't they been saying we'll have computer paper within the next couple of years since at least 1995?

DKS, guids,

That stuff is probably going to cause me more frustration in the way of ads on everything than anything else.

The Abiocore artificial heart device in 2001 (I think) - as a medical device developer this thing is really, really cool (if not a commercial success).

Along the same lines, the birth control transdermal patch (2002)

Optical camouflage as pointed out elsewhere in this thread.

The $100 laptop - I forget the company.

Cardinals stadium in AZ with retractable roof and retractable turf.

And even though they were designed in the 20th century, the Mars rovers far exceeded expectations.
