British humour has nothing to do with it tbh. I like plenty of American stand-ups, and Friends is one of my favourite comedy shows (not sure if this is a beat or not). I love over-the-top acts like Chris Tucker etc etc, but Silverman really is not clever witty atall.

Not a beat but it is telling. You like Friends and have a bit of an obsession with the Harry Potter girl. Nothing wrong with either but both are fairly safe and generic things to have as "favourites". It makes sense why you would not like Sarah Silverman.

BTW - I've seen your epic thread in BBV so before you get your manties in a bunch let me say this. I think Emma whateverhernameis is hot as well but she isn't what you would term edgy or risky. I think she will have a solid Kate Hudsonish career to look forward to.

I don't really class my tastes in comedy as particularly bland or generic atall tbh. I realise Friends is very mainstream etc etc, but I just think it is a very well written show with some great characters and jokes. Favourite comedies/comedians are probably the Office, Peep Show and Karl Pilkington (you may or may not have a clue what/who the latter two are). None of these can really be considered safe or generic in the slightest.
