I love this stuff. I have a long list of things to see or do before I die. It has all the basic stuff most have already mentioned; playboy party, Whitehouse event, etc.

Here are some of other things:
-Ski Tuckerman's ravine
-Hike the Appalachian Trail
-Raft the Gauley release
-Drive the back of a ladder truck
-Fly with the blue angels
-Drive a zamboni

All,

I'd add Olympic Games to the list.

Good one. Both the summer AND winter olympics would be terrific imo.

Olympics and World Cup are way high on my list of things I'd like to attend at least once before I die.

Even just a run-of-the-mill regular-season soccer match in Peru with an attendance in the neighborhood of 15k was an absolute blast for me so I can only begin to imagine the kind of fun I would have at a huge sporting event like the Olympics or World Cup or even just a major soccer rivalry in Europe or South America.

Somebody else mentioned NYC marathon. That's a good one too. I'm a horrible runner but I really would like to make my way through one of the major marathons like that sometime even if it means walking a significant part of it.

I've been to 3 Olympics. Two as a competitor (Summer 76 & 84) and once as a spectator (winter 88 Calgary). The big issue with the Olympics any more is it's all about the tourist $$. Everything is overpriced and subpar. Now with security the everyday spectator doesn't have a lot of access and it's almost impossible to get tickets for the big event finals without some kind of connection.

My still need to list includes:

Galapagos
Easter Island
Komodo
Reno Rib Cookoff
KCBS Royal
Climb the harbor bridge in Sydney

I would like to add:

Semana Santa in Sevilla - I'm atheist but it was an amazing experience.

Not a lot of places have been mentioned so I'll nominate Crater Lake.

Also the Empire State building is an obvious answer. It is obviously well known and touristy but is well worth the money and the waiting in line. I found it a hell of a lot more impressive than the statue of liberty, though when I was there you couldn't go into it so that takes a lot away.

For soccer I have several. I would love to watch a Champions League final, a World Cup Final, and a European Championship final. If I ever have a lot of money I'm sure I'll blow a lot in a few summers doing these things. The thing that tops my list though is watching a Sevilla - Betis match from Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. I was in Sevilla for the second half of the season and they played the match at Betis' stadium so I didn't get the chance. For me that would be the biggest, but I'd also love to see some of the others like the Old Firm game and Barcelona - Real Madrid.
