powerrangers - if you really think that's the wrong answer then wow. And you don't understand baseball as well as you think you do.
Would you rather face a pitcher with a full-season ERA of 10.00 who threw a no-hitter the last time he faced you...or would you rather face the league-leader in ERA who you were able to rough-up for 6 runs in 3 innings the last time you faced him?

[/ QUOTE ] if my team has beat the best team the last half dozen times we played and we've lost to the worst team that many times, i'd play the best team in a heartbeat. if you think that is incorrect, then you should probably reexamine the differences between baseball and poker. look at it this way: if you have won against phil ivey the last dozen times you've played him, but lost against...i dunno, let's say some random guy a dozen times in a row, you've obviously got something on the pro and something against you on the other guy. the choice is clear.
