Could it be that raising is even more -EV. The flop hit 2JJ, if it was 8JJ you'd have gotten paid off. However I really do understand your point. I'm a tad skeptical too, but in this case with the UTG jumping in, I lean towards limping. In practice I mix it up....

I like your line. It is standard and safe.

If you had a read that villain bluffs too much maybe you could call.

But you will have better spots later on. Just play it safe, conserve chips and play your standard game. FPS just gets you into trouble.
