[ QUOTE ]

Caucasians have the highest average intelligence, and with this number of people it would make a large difference. The only reason why other races could have an advantage is if the races don't get in trouble with each other and the sole purpose is to reproduce the most in the least number of years. And as we know, education and intelligence usually mean less offspring.

[/ QUOTE ]

the pressures against large families in highly educated and intelligent people usually stem from the high costs of bringing up children in a manner that gives them many later advantages and/or a number of significant professional sacrifices that must be made. i dont think that's particularly relevent to this scenario.

this question is very dependant on the physical environment, the scarcity of resources and distance between the groups. even then, i really dont think there's any way for one to come to a logical conclusion without making large assumptions that make one sound like a racist.

Poorly designed experiment. There are too many variables to be consider which have not been specified. For instance, big noses disapate heat better than small noses. In a hot environment big nosed races will have an adavantage over small nosed races. Conversely in a cold environment small nosed races will have an easier time retaining body heat. Is this island located in the tropics or the artic circle? Don't bother answering as I will just end up realizing there is another variable that wasn't specified and needs to be considered.

If you want to describe a hypothetical island experiment such as this, and describe it so people can give meaningful answers, you better be prepared to write a detailed description that is as long as a novel. The problem with that is nobody is going to read it and your efforts will be an excercise in futility.

You need more intelligence to beat people up with sticks?

This is all about survival skills, so you need some level of intelligence (dont play with bears etc.) but i dont think having a higher IQ (if this is true in any way) will help you.

[/ QUOTE ]

It will. Whereas those who are "experienced survivalist" will have an advantage over those who aren't, if two groups have similar survival experience, intelligence will make a big difference between them.

It probably wouldn't if it was a very small number of people per group, say 2-5, but with 3500 per group, organization, technology, strategy, etc will play a much more important role than who can run faster or gather more berries per minute.
