Re: Responding to Cbets - 100nl
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] yeah, but it's a crappy spot to do it [/ QUOTE ] if he puts us on nothing, as I believe he is prone to do, he'll probably just do it anyway.. [/ QUOTE ] Then adjust and valuebet more against this type of guy. If he's so aggressive that he's gonna be raising or betting on this terrible spot to do it with air, just c/f. |

Re: Responding to Cbets - 100nl
remember it was folded to the button, so he could virtually have anything. and after you called, the BB was getting over 3:1. in this situation i'd probably stay true to the "no set no bet" policy. the only other option is to put out a huge raise. maybe bring it to $25 of $30.

[ QUOTE ]
It's a terrible board to cbet in this situation, not sure if he knows that though. [/ QUOTE ] Could you elaborate on this a little bit. Is it just because the board is sooo draw heavy?? |

Re: Responding to Cbets - 100nl
ppl wont give you any credit for a hand..
you button raised and now your representing having hit a low flop.. either you have an overpair, A7 or completely whiffed. alot of villains will realize this and play back at you which sucks most of the time because you dont have the A7 or overpair edit: thought it was a rainbow board.. yeah its because the flop is draw heavy as well so they have a lot wider calling range, so again you get called alot and you have nothing which sucks |

Re: Responding to Cbets - 100nl
I tend to just c/f against villains like this in 3-way pots.
We're pretty sure that he's capable of firing multiple barrels, and we're not really sure where we're at (and we're out of position with a marginal hand with little chance to improve). Also, he just bet into two players on a board that isn't ideal to be c-betting. This is at least somewhat suggestive of a pair/made hand. |

Re: Responding to Cbets - 100nl
so many lines to take here then...
if u check i think u gotta just give it up with some1 to act after u. you should prob donk this flop IMO. you could alternately call down and then turn hand into a bluff if a spade hits... |

Villain is 24/19/4 and cbets 90%. Is there some way to play back at him here? I know he is cbetting and I know there is a huge chance I have the best hand but do I just have to fold anyway? Party Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter) Hero (SB): $110.87 BB: $100.00 UTG: $47.53 CO: $81.60 BTN: $77.00 Preflop: Hero is dealt 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 Players) 2 folds, BTN raises to $4.00, Hero calls $3.50, BB calls $3.00 Flop: ($12) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3 (3 Players) Hero checks, BB checks, BTN bets $7.00, Should hero raise here? [/ QUOTE ] Villain can't see your cards. Try playing like you flopped a set and raise. |

Re: Responding to Cbets - 100nl
I lead out in these kind of situations everytime. The main goal is to pick up the pot, but if I'm called I'm not necessarily giving up the hand. If I get raised I fold though.
Anyway, if both players just have overcards without 2 spades, they both have to fold, and this is the case often enough to make leading out profitable. |

Re: Responding to Cbets - 100nl
Why are people saying that you don't have odds to call for set value PF? You are calling $4 with effective stacks of $77. Can someone please explain what size bet we could call purely for set value? I thought the rule was less than 5% call for sure (this is very close) and you can call up to 10% if you are sure that villain will pay you off if you hit.
