The thing about AG was that the first season rocked, then they added a new "improved" event for each subsequent season, and the added event always sucked. For instance the one where you roll in a sphere and try to cover some smoke exhaust vents on the ground. WTF?

The show like, regressed, yo. I still watch it occassionally on ESPN Classic at midnight CST.

This event doesn't make for good TV, but would fun as hell to play. Think bumper cars, but for men.

A short little black dude named 'Two Scoops' showed up on the show once and simply DOMINATED the living crap out of all the gladiators in every single event. Pretty much ruined the show for me, he made these guys look like Grade A chumps.

The chicks were still hot though.

Season 1 had a guy who was a former collegiate football Fullback (Craig Williams?), who pretty much dominated every gladiator.

They had that football event where you try to run by the linebacker (gladiator), like a running back, and Craig just ran through Gemini. Gemini was laying down for a bit, and I'm pretty sure he hurt his shoulder.

I do like that the UK version gives the female gladiators measurements. Classy.

Also, I'd put the AG theme music in my All-Time TV Theme Music Top 10.

I always liked The Wall, especially when the contestants had no clue how to climb and were given a head start that made no difference as the gladiator just ran up to the wall and grabbed their leg to pull them down, given that they had only made it about 3 feet so far.

Ya, or that event with the rings they would have to swing across from one panel to the other without the gladiator starting from the other side pulling them off.

I'd say less than 5% of people made it across, the event was pointless. People would swing out like 2 feet then totally stop and let the gladiator close in and then decide they needed to move.
