We're getting 2,7:1 which means 3,7:1 = 27% equity.
There is almost no possibility he will bluff the turn allin after that action so the hands that he would make this move with contain mostly sets, 2pairs, weird overpairs, straights or some sort of combodraws.. All together our range is around less than 17% against his allin, therefore calling is a mistake... I like the 3,4ish raise.. less is better if we don't elect to call an allin, as long as we will make it believeable that we have a strong hand.. so if you think that 2,9ish would do the job as well, then raise that amount... If you raise more than 3,4k you'll get into trouble equity wise.. so if you raise around 4k it might become close to lay the hand down...

he 4-bet, and I shoved - he folded

He appears to play fairly LAG, but not stupid.

How is 4-betting and folding not stupid again?

He 4-bet to like 1100, I shoved for 5000. If his 4-bet was a bluff, it is not stupid to fold at this point.
