18 is excellent, particularly for a bigger person.

I've been thinking about what my ceiling might be if I trained for it. I am fairly, not completely, confident that I could get to 25 by the end of the year. The difference between 23 and 22 was big for me, and I haven't really come up with a strategy for 24 yet-- so 26 seems way out there. The other thing is, that I don't want to really focus on it-- I don't like that one much. I've only selected it to do because I suspected I'd do pretty well.

how is your fran time? if someone can get a great time on that one, thats impressive to me. i can do all the thruster sets unbroken, but to be able to do 21,15, and then 9 pullups all right after thrusters seems almost superhuman. ive only done it twice, first time was 7:40, second time 6:25

I'm afraid answering that may be bad for future action. I'll tell you after J.Brown visits SF. I don't think you'll be that impressed. I'm not sure what it is that makes pull-ups after thrusters so hard, but I am not immune.

shemp,

tough to give you fran action. sorry.

for whatever reason the thrusters at 95lbs. crush me, not sure why, but i will be working on it.

my fran time is a joke, can't do unbroken sets on any of them, it is the one that gasses me the most for sure.

back to the fitness drawing board on that one, although i am pretty damn new to crossfit in general (less than 6 months) i think you are a fitness monster in sheep's clothing

wtf i can't even be close to the fittest guy on a poker forum.......lol.

have a great week. J.

I'm not saying I'm that guy for you *by any stretch*, but there's always some one *a lot* fitter, faster, stronger, tougher, etc. When I go for a run, ride, or swim, I get passed all the time like I'm standing still-- I'm just thankful when the passer isn't a former NFL lineman or a middle aged woman. I just try an give a good effort within my own limitations.

I'm not quite willing to give up that there maybe something we can gamble on. So keep me posted. And please consider my suggestions about randomly choosing a 3-day cycle or "the games" three events.

Btw. For your ohs max rep feats-- count backwards, or better yet, have someone else count backwards aloud for you. If your current max is 25 try 30, or something. I've found this can yield surprising results for me. Maybe it will work for you.

a 3 day event would be sweet, although my little bro (who i come to visit in sf would think i am crazy) he thinks a three day event means partying and at the end of 3 days you are at the endup at 8am!?!

thanks for the counting backwards advice. i still think you are much much fitter than you think. your humility is noble and admired. we will stay posted on all of this. J.
