This was my first thought as well. As far chains go I usually hate them but BJ's is ok.

Don't have these in PA, though it reminds me of Rock Bottom

http://www.rockbottom.com/RockBottomWeb/RBR/Home.aspx

For those that have both, are they pretty similar?

The couple of times I went to this place it struck me as very okay. A couple of my friends raved about it. But it couldn't stand out as a place to frequent while I was living in Houston because I was a big fan of another restaurant/micro-brewery, Two Rows in Rice Village.

BJ's is pretty good. Solid pizza and burgers, decent beers, extensive menu. I'm a fan. I remember really liking the jambalaya and the sausage calzones.

Buffalo chicken tenders with a tall glass of Regatta Red makes me salivate just thinking about it.

we don't have these in the northeast but it sounds a lot like this place http://southportbrewing.com/

it also goes by initials, SBC. sounds like a cookie cutter of BJ's.

their food was a bit overpriced for what it was. slightly above average. i seem to remember a story about finding a big tapeworm in some of the piping that carried beer for their taps. it was about 5 years ago, and i can't find anything about it on the internet. maybe it was just a bad dream.

I almost never go out to restaurants like this. I very rarely go out to the midscale chain type places.
