Re: Why are we playing poker?
People that say they are bored with Poker and don`t think it`s much of a game and they play it just because there is an opportunity to win money should seriously consider spending their time on something else.
Because this is not different then working at McDonald`s doing some boring shiat just to pay your bills. McDonald`s job however is a guaranteed +EV and the risk of ruin is 0%. Compare that to the uncertainty of Poker and it doesn`t take a genius to realize that flipping burgers is a much better option for this type of people. I play poker because it`s the only game that challenges you at so many different fields and levels and the opportunity to make a living from it makes it perfect. Think about everything you have to master in order to become a great poker player: Math, probability, statistics, economy, finance, analysis, psychology, logic, observation, discipline, Anger/Tilt management are just a few of the many things you need to be good at. Not to mention that above average IQ is a must in order to have some kind of edge. Needless to say a massive motivation and determination is needed on top of being a "natural". I`m sorry to say but the undisputed and well known fact is that a guy who is bored when he plays poker stands no chance in a long run. [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] |

Playing poker fulltime is one of the most boring monotonous activities I could ever conceive of... |
