FYP. I don't throw around the word gay, unless someone is doing something that may be considered homosexual, like sharing an umbrella with another guy, or holding hands with another guy in a movie theater.

Being gay, it doesn't bother me. I use terms like F'ing Queer to refer to gay people now. I don't like sissy queens and drag queens. So I usually use the term in a deroggatory manner myself. But I don't know if being gay it is one of those terms like that you have to be black to use the "N" word. Who knows?

Obviously, using the word "gay" to discuss something that is unfavorable has a stigmatic connotation when you consider that there are homosexuals in this country who, aside from their sexual predilections, are human beings. That didn't prevent me from using this gem on the phone a couple of weeks ago:

Me: Yeah, that sucks [censored].

Whatever, if it's not in the 2+2 language filter it's OK to use, since half the words I use regularly get [censored] on here. So obviously Mason Malmuth doesn't mind me calling all of you a bunch of gay retarded [censored]

I used to use it a lot...Then I had some teachers get on my ass about it, I realized how stupid it sounded, met more gay people, etc...Now I rarely use it, but it still slips out at times.

IMO it's still OK/PC to use it at occasions with repressed homosexual undertones e.g. rugby clubs etc, where people feel the need to assert their masculinity.
