You sir are an [censored]. All I am trying to do is get a little bit of help from the forums. You are a classless piece of [censored].

I agree I'm coming off a little harsh. I apologize. I don't intend malice, only humor. I mean, c'mon now. Step back a bit and assess this. You asked a question and I gave you the best possible answer, right away. You then ignored that advice and asked again, so I followed my own advice and got a lot of information with minimal effort and told you that it was that easy. Then you again asked me to spell it out for you. I decided to take the approach I did. Do you see why?

There are many cardrooms in Tunica. I'm not going to call up every single one and be your advocate. I'm trying to tell you that if you want a job at a cardroom, ask the cardroom how to get a job there. I don't know how much simpler this can be, yet you continue to refuse to accept it and get pissy when others have a little bit of fun with your stubbornness.

If you're this touchy, you won't survive as a dealer.

[/ QUOTE ]

One of the purposes of an internet forum is to get questions answered. Maybe someone just moved to Tunica and applied at 4 casinos for dealer positions and can say, well "the Horseshoe is hiring but the others aren't, etc"

People ask questions about coming to Vegas all the time that could be obtained with a phone call:
does MGM ever get 8-16 going?
what's the poker rate?
how long is the line at Pure on the weekends?
what's the dress code at DelMonico's?
etc etc etc
Are you going to berate all these posters like children? You can say you were doing it with humor, but the first few posts sure didn't come off that way.

The OP asked a perfectly resonable question, if you don't like it just move on to the next topic.

Someone that works as a supervisor in Tunica has posted in this thread. You could probably get some good information if you asked politely.

Ty growlers for coming to my defense. I didn't think I was asking anything too out of line. I did a search and couldn't find anything so decided to start a thread. Im trying to find answers to reasonable ?'s and he is trying to find humor. gg sir.

Also I did try to get some help from the floor supervisor an the shoe and he told me. "Someone has to die before a dealer job becomes available at the Shoe. That is fine. I dont have to work at the shoe. I have no problem with starting in lower quality card rooms until I can get my feet wet. The main things I wanted to know are the qualifications of most of the dealer jobs in the area. If there is no dealer school in tunica and I need to have a diploma from a school then I need to go somewhere else before coming to Tunica to obtain the papers. Like I said. All I was looking for was some good advice. thanks to all who made helpful posts.

I see this sort of thread every few weeks and they're always filled with a bunch of people giving wildly differnet advice based on their own experiences, most of which won't apply to any particular room.

I apologize for suggesting that the best way to find out what a casino requires for hiring is to call and chat with people who are in charge of hiring at casinos. Obviously this was unhelpful (and perhaps even destructive) advice. IRTE.

FWIW, in my extremely brief phone call with the poker room, I discovered a few things. There's no training requirement, but there is an audition. A good way to get onto the short list for hiring is to work a circuit event (one of which is coming up). And a few other tidbits. I didn't press for details on anything, or trying to get hints about a back door, because I really don't care about getting hired in Tunica. I'm sure the information was there to be had. As far as I know, floor supervisors don't handle hiring and probably don't enjoy fielding questions about it. I'm also sure that had I called another local casino, I'd have gotten entirely different information specific to that casino.

Again, sorry for being unhelpful way back there in my very first post of the thread, and then again a few times over. It won't happen again.

Heh, pfapfap, you and your crazy talk. A few years back I was living in SoCal and wanted to get into dealing so I called up a bunch of rooms and asked them what it took to get hired there. One mentioned a specific school; I went there and eventually got a job. What are the odds huh?

I wanted a job in LA once. I called up a casino, they knew who I was by name and hired me over the phone.

LOL at how practically every thread about becoming a dealer turns into a flame war. No idea why this subject gets people so hot.
