The most important factor in picking a level is the willingness to drop when your bankroll suggests. I believe everyone should read Chris Ferguson's bankroll article Chris Ferguson on Bankroll

Thanks for the link. I just read it, and it's awesome. I had a very nasty downswing last month, took a huge hit to my bankroll. I've dropped way down in stakes, but I've been trying to formulate a plan to work my way back up. Jesus' article gives me one.

I wait until i had 3 for PL25/NL25, after that i cashed out 700$ monthly. If i win more i travel to the USA and join vegas or buy a few bigger thinks like flat TV.
I must say that i dont need the monthly 700 and invest it in the stockmarkets. I am sure that poker is down earlier or later, and hope to live in the future with a part time job and investing, real estate or somethink like that.

Man, I can't believe that nobody jumped all over the 300BB for limit thing. 300BB is minimum for full ring games and even then a good player could go busto especially with a bit of tilt. If you play SH (which most of the games are) it's 500BB minimum and busto can occur.

Now that I have finally gotten to NL100, I plan to just leave it in there for now, as I have no need to withdraw any of it.

Going to Vegas for the first time in January for the CES show, so plan to pull out whatever I have built up over my bankroll and hit the tables with it.

After that, I will probably just have a set amount, like $1000 over my roll, that whenever I hit it I request a check.

It's probably better to give yourself an extra cushion in this day and age. I've had no method of deposit since neteller stopped serving the U.S., and I haven't looked into one because I haven't needed it.

I kept $6,000 in my account to play 2-4 NL and cashed out when I got somwhere between 2k-4k over that. Then I went on a bad run. When I dropped to $3,000, I went down levels and played 1-2. The bad run continued and I fell all the way down to $700 before building it back up over $6,000 again. So a little extra cushion is beneficial if you want to make sure not to bust your account.

You can't go busto if you drop down after taking a 100BB downswing until you build back up to 300BB. Recommend adding that to your BR Management Strategy.
