betting this turn is far from bad...and I will bet it quite often, especially at a passive table.

Well, bravos1 has over 6K posts, so maybe I didn't make such a huge mistake!

Am I the only person who studies SSH anymore?

Ed says to bet this turn. Very similiar example starting on page 285.

two tone flops when you hold the nut flush draw are much different than a mono flop ...
an opponent will likely underplay a large range of hands (are may be waiting till a 'safe' turn card comes)

Hit me with some logic bravos, I'm yet to be convinced by any of the arguments for betting this turn.

Remy, you can't build an argument around betting for value based on your equity (edge). However you look at this, not a value bet. You are saying that everyone is always going to call your bet. Nah-ah.

[/ QUOTE ]

Point well taken.

[ QUOTE ]

If you are saying there is an example in SSH that advocates betting in a similar spot, without looking at it, I'm going to guess you are facing fewer opponents, with a pot at least this big or biger, and that the main argument for betting is even if your opponents fold rarely, the times they do is great because you may be folding out a hand that reverse dominates you.

[/ QUOTE ]

4 opponents as well. Exact pot size. The difference is that hero is suited in the hole and the flop is 2 suited. Folding reverse dominating hands is mentioned, and it's AWESOME

If the worst mistake you make is continuing on the turn into a large field with over cards and a draw to the nuts you are doing alright. If you didn't have the flush draw this would be an easy check behind and quite possibly a fold if someone donked you. The reason you don't bet this is that at the micros you are most likely to find people that can't fold 22 here or on the river. You love those people when you hit your A or K but not so much when you are trying to bet them off a pot with ace high. Occasionally you want to bet this for meta game purposes, but most of the time take the free card.
