International terminal --> BART --> Colma station --> Lucky Chances casino

You could be playing poker in 30 minutes.

[/ QUOTE ]

I know this is neither the time nor the place. Well ok maybe it's the time but not the place, or maybe it's the place but not the time. On second thought maybe this is the time and the place, but not the right opening. In any case I think I'm going to be making a voyage to the Lucky Chances this or next weekend as I live about 10 minutes from it. Anyone know what a busto sort of person like me should be expecting in terms of games and skill levels and such?

I was supposed to fly out to Frankfurt (and then take a connection to Prague) an hour ago. My mom and I checked in, got boarding passes, tried to get on the plane, they were like "where's your paper ticket", we're like "wtf" because nobody [censored] told us we need paper tickets at any point along the way, they start looking in the computer system, they're like "oh lol apparently the credit card got bounced" (my aunt booked these for us as a graduation present, she's also rich as hell so dunno where this came from) "and apparently we never even made tickets for you guys!" I'm still not sure how we got boarding passes if this is true, but anyway, that's their story and they're sticking to it.

Some dude at the gate said they'd put us on standby for a later flight and we should go talk to Mark at the checkin counter and he'd take care of us. We make the trek back and Mark is a [censored] moron who doesn't know a goddamn thing and actually got pissy at us for having the audacity to suggest that we belong on a plane to Frankfurt. We called my aunt's travel agent that booked the whole shebang and are currently waiting for her to try to sort the [censored] out with United Airlines. Meanwhile, we're hoping to get on another flight to Frankfurt at 7pm but whether we'll actually get on remains to be seen. I paid $10 for 24 hour wi-fi access and WILL BE SURE 2 KEEP U POSTED BBV.

Oh yeah, and I woke up at 7pm (20 hours ago) in Las Vegas and made an 8 hour drive to San Francisco. So yeah, my day isn't so great.

Goofy, a similar thing happenned to me a couple years ago for a flight from the US to Paris. I ordered the ticket through an online travel agent, paid for it w/ my credit card, paid my credit card off as soon as the charge showed up, went to the airline's website and picked out specific seat #s, and printed an eticket receipt the morning of my flight.

I show up to the airport w/ all of the relevant documentation and the ticket clerk tells me, "although we have a reservation for you, you don't have a seat." I'm like, "Was it not clear that I actually wanted a seat on the plane and not just a reservation?" We went back and forth for a while, but Delta wouldn't budge and the travel agent was unreachable. They said I had to buy another ticket if I wanted to fly with Delta.

The price I had originally been quoted was $800; Delta said the price of tickets had gone up to $2000 b/c it was so close to departure time (total bs, that's suppossed to make the price come down). Mind you, this "new" ticket had me on the exact same flight in the exact same seats I had choosen. WTF? I buy the new ticket, figuring a couple well written emails would clarify the situation and I would get my 2k back.

I emailed, made phone calls and got my family members to help in resolving this issue. No dice. It actually took 12 months, several snail mail letters and eventually me filling a petition in small claims court to get the $$$ back. My advice to you: KEEP ALL OF THE PAPERWORK REGARDING THIS TRIP, REMEMBER AS MANY NAMES AND TITLES AS POSSIBLE, AND GO OUT OF YOUR WAY TO MAKE A PAPER TRAIL. THE AIRLINES WILL STONEWALL YOU EVERY CHANCE THEY GET. DON'T LET THEM PUSH YOU AROUND.

Ohh yeah, If you want to get laid in Europe all you have to do is try. Make deep, almost awkward eye contact w/ all grls you would bone. If one stairs back, its an invitation. Use a few of the PUA moves from your bowling date thread, but overall play it more aggressive. The women there are fascinated my American men. One of the things ab it is our perceived confidence and sense of entitlement. Be yourself, but choose to show the very confident side of yourself and you should do fine.

Your luggage will arrive before you do.

Not to get all SRS and [censored], but, the fact that they gave you Boarding Passes, which got you thru security checkpoints all the way to the gate is a MAJOR security blunder on the airlines part if they are taking the line that you dont actually have seats. I recco using this angle for discussion with United. Ask them if they'd lik to join you as you explain to the airports TSA Boss what they did. I'm guessing they won't be very happy with United taking a big knock from TSA and may become, how shall we say, more accomodating.

EDIT: Being armed with this might help.

Interesting thought, but unlikely. If their bags made onto a plane that they didn't takeoff on, TSA will tear the everliving [censored] out of them. Bag/passenger matching is one of the most fundamental and important security measures required by airlines.

Hopefully you have your bags back. If you don't and they tell you they are now airborne, your case just got tons stronger for using TSA as a hammer in negotiations with the airline to sort your tix out sharpishly.

what games do they have at artichoke joes? I didnt know it existed until I saw it from the train the other day.

[/ QUOTE ]

IIRC Artichoke Joe's spreads poo-flinging at the 3/6, 6/12, and 15/30 levels. There's a stable of good regs, but there's also plenty of game selection so keep your eyes peeled and find a good table. And O8 half kill at 4/8.

LHE at 3/6, 6/12, and sometimes 9/18. Typical live games.

Spreadlimit at 1-1-2, $4 bring in $200 max bet and $200 max buyin. It plays like NL. You will get a lot of action, though most players are regs so you won't find any tourists or droolers, but its definitely beatable. There's also a 2-3-5 spreadlimit, game and a 10-10-20 game that is true no limit, but I suppose those are not for busto sorts like you.

7CS at 2/4 and 3/6 levels with $1 ante. Very loose and very aggresive. And O8 half kill at 4/8.

Since I know everyone here is dying for resolution: We made it on the 7pm flight to Frankfurt and got a different Lufthansa flight to Prague from there. After flying Lufthansa, I never want to fly on any [censored] American airline again. Even in Economy class we got comfortable seats with plenty of legroom (I could not [censored] sleep on the 11 hour flight from SF to Frankfurt despite being awake for 24 FREAKING HOURS because the [censored] was so not comfortable) and a tasty snack (even though it was just a 1hr flight) with free alcohol. [censored] this country.

Also, Czech girls are so hot. I've been making very good progress with them; the other day at the Prague Castle, there was a really cute girl that looked to be my age that sold my mom and I tickets to get in. As we turned to walk away, our eyes met, and she gave me a soft smile. I returned it before walking away. PROGRESS!

There are seriously zero fatties here, and even the ugliest non-tourist girls I've seen (although it's hard to tell sometimes because there are sooooo many tourists in this city) are probably 5's in the US. I don't know what nation would do in this city; there aren't any grenades to jump on.
