[ QUOTE ] Basically almost no conclusions came of this. Which is why I think live reads really have so much to do with the game. [/ QUOTE ] hand 2 is an incredibly easy bet/call, fold riv UI. [/ QUOTE ] See I hate putting in 2 bets on the turn with the intention of folding the river unimproved. hate that. |

Hating something has nothing to do with how good of a play it is.

[/ QUOTE ] Playing the no brainers, or what people think are no brainers, is more important than anything else. It is interesting to see the thought process different people go through when meeting up with these common situations. |

Just deciding to bet doesn't give you the full plan for the rest of the hand. |

For the first time in a long time, I am posting my advice before reading any other posts, only the OP.
Hand 1: You checkraised the flop, usually meaning a K or a flush draw, and a perfect card came on the turn. There is no reason to think your opponent has the K. Bet, and if he raises, you know he is behind, but have to call and fold unimproved. He will be hard pressed to call without a K or a high club (Q or A, or maybe TTc). Betting gets the hand over with and takes down the pot so often here, it really isn't a choice. Hand 2: I think we need more info regarding the preflop action. How do you and villain percieve EP. If EP is decent to good, that means that villain has a good hand to raise. If EP is playing 80%+ of the hands, then villain could have a range of A8+ KT+ and 55+, trying to isolate a weak limper. If EP is a decent player, I think calling is better, and if EP is a fish, 3 betting is better. As for the hand, the ace is the worst card in the deck OBV, I check/call turn letting villain bluff of his chips to us, we have to get to showdown here I think. Hand 3: You must be behind here, QJ is a very marginal holding here, what are you ahead of? Exactly JT or maybe TT, and they have a lot of outs. You may have the initiative, but your 3-bet was more of a field narrower I feel. Get to showdown cheaply, turn into a check/call station. |
