VP$IP/PFR/AF?

Do you want to play professionally, or would you prefer to have a job and play on the side?

How do you handle your downswings? Do you take time off, or do you just play through some minor tilt?

What advice would you give to a FR player thinking about taking shots at 6max? Do you feel that 6max is softer than FR?

[/ QUOTE ]

Lifetime Im about a 14/10/4 but recently Ive bumped it up to around 16/13.

I try to quit my sessions when things are going bad but that doesnt always happen. I usually dont take days off since this is my "job" and I have nothing else to do during the day. Occasionally Ill just play micro stakes and push all in every hand and laugh when I outdraw people, that helps sometimes.

For taking shots at 6 max Id recommend dropping down a level and getting a feel for how its played. Its definitely a different game and takes a good amount of adjustments after playing FR for a long time.

As for it being softer in general yes but at the same time theres a reason Im not playing 6 max anymore. The variance is high and being a low winrate player(like I was) over there sucks a lot more than at FR.

Yea Id say 2+2 distracts me and probably hurts my grades somewhat but not too much. Last semester I made a 3.43 while playing like 40khands/month so I dont its a problem

This is very impressive.

Right now I'm all but done with college. I just cannot motivate myself to do any work, and that was BEFORE I learned how to play poker. Now it's just hopeless lol.

As for moving up, just go up there and play your game. A lot of people think they need to get all fancy since the players are better but you dont. Treysfull plays the most straightforward poker I have ever seen and he is a winner at 1/2. Im not you should play like this Im just saying play in your comfort zone and things will go much smoother. After you are comfortable you can make the necessary adjustments and start exploiting everyone.

[/ QUOTE ]

I like this advice. I tend to have issues when moving up and feel like I have to make genius plays to win, but it simply isn't the case. Next time I jump up and take a shot I really want to focus on playing my same game and not getting crazy.

Worst downswing? What is your version of tilt and how much has this cost you?
